In Brief
The Southern Right Whales migrate from the Antarctic to the coastal waters of South Africa to calve and nurse their young. Allow us to take you to Walker Bay and Hermanus, the “Whale Capital” of South Africa about 90 mins drive outside Cape Town. The road takes us all along the coast of False Bay, one of South Africa’s most panoramic drives. Not to be missed is our stop at Stoney Point to view the African Penguins in their natural habitat.
Hermanus is known as the land based whale Capital of the World – you can see whales frolicking from the winding coastline, observed from the benches along the cliff paths. Visitors can sometimes see whales within 5 – 10 metres of the cliff path, especially during October. The tour is a 10 hour sight-seeing adventure. Very popular is having lunch at a restaurant overlooking Walker Bay while the whales “entertain” you. Return via one of our biggest apple production areas and stunning mountain passes overlooking the distant Cape Town as you approach the city. Pickup at 8h00 and drop off around 18h00.
