Pickup at 06h00 and take the main highway to the north on the way to Aquila Game Reserve. Leave the highway in the area of Paarl and take the first pass -a beautiful pass overlooking the Paarl Valley to the Breede River Valley. A take-away coffee and comfort stop before we reach the town of Worcester.

Drive along many vineyards on route and enter the second pass en route and we arrive at Aquila Game Reserve at 08h45 and enjoy a buffet breakfast from 09h00 to 10h00. A 2 to 3 hour game drive now follows.

This 10,000 hectare conservancy has evolved from its early days of being residence to various antelope species only to becoming the home of the Big 5 – elephant, lion, buffalo, rhino and leopard – as well as a significant amount of other wild game, which roam freely on the reserve.

After the drive conducted by a specialist game ranger, we return to the main building and enjoy a big buffet lunch.

Departure from the reserve is 14h00 and we continue with the circular panoramic tour to the town of Ceres, known for the fruit industry, especially apples. On the way to Ceres we drive along the third pass for the day.

The town of Ceres now follows and immediately thereafter a fourth spectacular Pass. Picture stop in the pass (is next). We then carry on to the town of Wolseley where we take a look at the Blockhouses built during the 1899 – 1902 Anglo Boer War (South African War).

We leave the best for last – King of the Mountain Passes follows (not for the faint hearted). Not only the beauty of the pass, but also the stunning fynbos – proteas, heathers and restios will impress any nature lover.

We then drive into the town of Wellington- head office of South African Dried Fruit and carry on to Cape Town for drop off at 17h00/18h00.
